Our approach

Formulation at Natruël begins with restraint.

Every ingredient is selected for function, compatibility, and long-term use.

Nothing is included to follow fashion or inflate complexity.

Every component must justify its presence through performance and balance.

We formulate anhydrous body treatments with high butter ratios, measured oils, and skin-close aromatics,
prioritizing nourishment that endures rather than sensation that announces itself.

Not about using more ingredients.

About using the right ones, in proportion.

How ingredients are selected

Our formulations are built around three principles:

  • Structure — ingredients must contribute to stability, density, and lasting comfort
  • Compatibility — materials must work harmoniously with skin and with one another
  • Restraint — nothing extraneous, nothing performative

We favor ingredients that support the skin over time, not those designed to create immediate spectacle.

Ingredient groupings

Structural butters

These form the foundation of our products, providing body, nourishment, and long-wear comfort.

Used for their ability to soften without collapse, protect without occlusion, and remain stable across conditions.

Carrier oils & infusions

Selected to support absorption, flexibility, and skin feel.

Our oils are chosen for balance — not heaviness, not volatility — and infused slowly where appropriate to preserve integrity.

Functional additions

Included only when they serve a clear role in preservation, stability, or performance.

No ingredient is present as a gesture.

Aromatic components

We use essential oils and aromatic constituents sparingly and deliberately.

Our scent philosophy favors low projection, skin-close warmth, and emotional quiet.

Fragrance is never the point of the product — it is part of the experience, not the headline.

Ingredients we commonly work with

We work within a deliberately narrow material palette.

Ingredients may vary by product, but commonly include:

  • Butters: West & East African Shea, Mango, Cupuaçu, Kokum, Tucuma, Sal
  • Oils: Jojoba, Baobab, Marula, Sweet Almond, Rosehip, Evening Primrose, Safflower
  • Functional additions: Vitamin E, Rosemary CO₂ extract
  • Aromatic components: Essential oils and aromatic constituents where required

What we don’t formulate with

We do not include ingredients simply because they are popular, expected, or easy to explain.

You will not find:

  • unnecessary fillers
  • fragrance theater
  • trend-driven actives without structural purpose
  • formulations designed for immediacy at the expense of longevity

Restraint is not absence.

It is intention.

Transparency

Each product page includes a complete INCI list.

We believe clarity should be available without being performative.

If you are someone who reads ingredient lists, they are there.

If you are not, the formulation has already done the work.
